In Latin America, hoops are more than jewellery - they are talismans of strength and power, precious symbols of womanhood and heritage. To honour my Honduran side, I had to create the perfect pair.
Bold, wearable, handcrafted from start to finish. If I could hang them from any earlobes, I would pick Frida Kahlo's. She’s everything I feel that I become with the Frida hoops on.
Handmade in Toronto. Please allow for 1-2 weeks to ship as this is a made-to-order piece.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist. Through her paintings, she explored identity, gender, class, and race within Mexican society in stunning colour and form. Blending magical realism with folk art, she gave the world a harrowingly raw representation of women and mental health. Frida suffered from major health issues which left her bed ridden for much of her life, neither of which stopped her from painting or applying a red lip and great earrings.
